Attend Required International Student Orientation

Williams College offers a comprehensive International Student Orientation led by upper class international students and the Assistant Dean of International Student Services. It is an amazing opportunity to build relationships, get acquainted with Williams College and the surrounding area and learn valuable information that will support you in your transition to Williams and life in the U.S.

Mandatory Immigration Check-In with Assistant Dean of International Student Services

Every semester you will be expected to check-in with the Assistant Dean of International Student Services. You will receive an email shortly after classes begin with instructions regarding your check-in. It is important to know the check-in procedure is part of maintaining valid F-1 status and failure to do so can result in the termination of your status. During the check-in session you will review F-1 rules and regulations, provide photocopies of your immigration documents and receive the travel authorization signature. You must bring the following to your check-in appointment:

  • Your passport
  • Your original I-20
  • Electronic I-94 form
