Post-Arrival
SEVIS Check-In & Registration
As an international student, you are required to complete an immigration check-in within the first 30 days of each semester. This process is legally required in order for the college to confirm that you have reported to your school.
It is important to know this procedure is part of maintaining valid F-1 status and failure to do so can result in the termination of your status.
Step 1. Complete the SEVIS Check-in and Registration Form in the request center of the international portal.
Step 2. Make sure to upload the following information:
- Passport biographical page (if it has not changed we should have this on file)
- F-1 Visa
Please note that if you are a Canadian citizen in F-1 status, you will not have a visa stamp in your passport. - I-94 form
Step 3. Once ISS receives the form we will register you in SEVIS and issue the Williams College “Continued Attendance” Form I-20. We will also provide your travel authorization signature, which is valid for 1 year.
